Oahu Vacations

Oahu Vacations The Island of Oahu is Hawaii all on one island. Oahu is home to the large majority of the local population and is aptly nicknamed "The Gathering Place." Oahu is home to Hawaii's State Capital, Honolulu, and offers visitors the only true taste of a metropolitan city in Hawaii. Visitors to Oahu have the best of both worlds. In Waikiki - which has undergone a major makeover - visitors will find a vibrant nightlife, world-class hotels, shopping and dining, and in nearby downtown Honolulu, they'll find the heart of Hawaii's arts and culture scene, with museums, art galleries, eclectic bars and exotic restaurants. Less than an hour away, the Windward coast of Oahu is home to some of America's best beaches. In the heart of Oahu's legendary North Shore sits Banzai Pipeline, Waimea Bay and Sunset Beach, known for the epic waves perfect for spectators to watch and for pro surfers to ride during the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing. In addition to what you can do and see, the island of Oahu is rich with the culture and history of the islands and a spirit you will feel. The warmth of its people, their traditions and a unique blend of cultures have created a place like nowhere else. The Island of Oahu has so many activities and options, there's something for every type of visitor, whether they are active singles, planning a wedding or honeymoon, coming with family, or interested in immersing themselves into Hawaii's unique history, culture and arts. Each part of Oahu is beautiful and unique. Visitors are encouraged to discover all the different sides of Oahu, you'll be amazed with what you find.

Waikiki Waikiki
Waikiki, once the playground of royalty, is today a residential community and resort area. Within its two-mile stretch, Waikiki offers a vast, updated array of accommodations, dining, shopping and entertainment options to suit all types of travelers. With calm waters and white, sandy shores, Waikiki is a great resort destination, with fine dining and fast food, luxury boutiques and convenience stores and all the choices and options that will make any visitor happy. There are only a handful of hotels and resorts that are truly on the beach, but as the area of Waikiki is relatively small, the majority of all properties are no more than two blocks away from the beach. Hawaii state law declares that all beaches in the state are open to the public and access must be provided to them. As a result, depending on their budget, your customers can stay at a less expensive hotel and still use the beaches by the oceanfront properties. There are several public access points along Waikiki Beach.
